About

Karibuni!

Hello there!

Hey there! My name is Beth and I’m sometimes known as Nanja, Nanjala, or Bethonce. You can feel free to call me either of those names or come up with a catchy nickname :). I consider myself a global citizen. I was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, lived in Matete (where are my Luhyas at!?) and moved to the states at the age of 9. I lived in Minnesota for 9 years and I currently live in Massachusetts attending UMass Amherst.

For a long time I have wanted to start blogging but I always found random excuses as to why I can’t do it. This time around I decided to take the leap of faith and go for it. Anyways, when is a better time to start a blog than in quarantine?

With this blog, I hope to cover a range of topics from mental health, University Studies, applying to graduate programs, international study, self-growth, etc.

I write because I don’t know what I think until I read what I say.
